Contemporary Themes
Contemporary themes is a class where we take text and analyze it thoroughly using previous text that we used before. We learned how to appreciate things that we have, spread joy, and think for ourselves. An example is when we created our first think project using multiple sources to gather information about speaking tongues. Then we created a multimedia presentation for our class to lay out our version of language barriers. We first had to discuss our thought about language within our group and then we branched out to locate different sources of information. Making the infomercial was the most tedious part of all because we all had different point of views on how we wanted our video to present our message. This project was meaningful to me because we not only got to work with friends but we took our mindset outside of the classroom and made the project our own. Now I understand the need to work cooperatively when put in team.
Our second project was the Anti-bulling project. The purpose of this project was to understand what bullying is and the reason why everyone should step up. Just like the speaking tongue we had to deliver multimedia presentation using multiple sources to deliver our beliefs. Starting this project was hard at first because everyone knows what bullying is but when you asked them or even yourself how can you stop it very few answers come up. My group had to do a lot of research on this topic because we need a variety of answers for every possible situation. The bullying project was a very meaningful project because I have known people that have been bullied. During the course of this project it changed from an assignment to a duty. I now know that one out of every seven students in school have been or are bullied.
